Screenwriting: My new project.

My new project. screenwriting

SAMPLE - 1-pager from CHAIRMAN NOW my new adventure/graphic novel script.

FADE IN:

EXT. DESOLATE AREA - NIGHT

REMOTE. REGRETTABLE. In the moonlight, three shadowy figures. Something unpleasant is in progress.

BAD BOOTY, big black THUG with a mouth full of GOLD - armed and taunting with a lead pipe.

BAD BOOTY Brother's got some fine rims.

HIS POV

MAN in a POWER CHAIR cornered like a rat. It’s fight or flight time. Pee or flee.

BACK TO SCENE

TRAILER TRASH, another SCUMBAG. A white boy with long, greasy hair and a muscle shirt - tats on his shoulders and arms - ratchets up the drama.

TRAILER TRASH Pooping in your pants? (mocking) Awe, too much fear.

MAN in chair shifts into (ICBM) instant calm breath mode overcoming panic reflex and hyperventilation.

BRAGGING to the world.

TRAILER TRASH I got backed up. Five and a half days. Looked like a small Burmese Python curled up in the crapper.

BAD BOOTY (O.C.) Nasty.

He’s in his face - BULLYING and talking trash.

TRAILER TRASH You and Stephen Hawking ever drag for beers? ( pause) Well, I'm gonna drag you.

Makes good on his threat. PULLS the MAN out of chair.

Hey Ray! Thanks for sharing this! I would love to share a page of my current project but am weary about the protection of my idea. I know this is a seemingly novice concern, but what would you suggest? You have gotten some great feedback and I would love to jump into these waters but am a little nervous! xx

Emily, you gotta jump in sometimes. My opinion. One page does not a screenplay make. I have 40 other pages to this and can turn on a dime if need be. There are no guarantees, but the feedback here was honest, direct and very helpful. To me, it was well worth posting. And I really appreciate this...
