'Owning' your work is all well and good, and supporting the finial product is only professional. But this should also serve to remind writers that what ends up on the screen will almost never be exactly what they envisioned when they first sat before the typewriter (or in that coffee-place... or hell on your secretary's lap, if that's your thing) :) Therefore (I digressed, I know) you should remember to take pride in what you actually wrote... and then cash the checks as they come your way. If you really can't support the finial product, then demand finial cut approval on your next script and see how far that gets you in Hollywood... or anywhere else :)
Well said Aaron.
