Thank you Doug, for writing such a moving piece on the late, great Tony Scott. When I first heard about his passing, I couldn't believe it. I am not only an aspiring filmmaker but also a movie buff, and he was actually one of my favorites. I've read that his style was, in many ways, considered, "Filmmaking on acid," and although I've never done acid myself, I understand the effects and visually, that statement was absolutely true - and that was one of the things I loved about his work. You could see it especially in movies like, Domino, Man On Fire and True Romance, among others. That erratic, fast-paced, high-intensity style with a twist that only he could deliver. There was no other filmmaker like Tony Scott, and I don't think there ever will be again. With his passing, not only have those who loved him suffered a great loss, but the world itself has lost an artist and a craftsman of motion picture-making who has forever left his mark on mankind...
