So you either have to start at the bottom and work your way up or you have to make a name for yourself and know who is who. If your like me your probably just trying to find a way to make money doing what you love while you build your skills to get to feature films. It can be done if you have a strategic plan of where you want to go and what it takes to get there. I got my first credit on a Feature Film for Outlaw Films (Training Day, Sex Lies and Video Tape) 11 months after my first short and I have been on over 90 productions in 15 months. It's paid off with skill and resources. That's the best marketing for the industry I have found. For getting paid that's just business marketing I am afraid and it's a highly over saturated market. But as a wise producer once told me "Anything that is good will eventually rise to the top". I have found that to be true.
Use celtx all the time, when I send off scripts I always send two versions, celtx and pdf files as it's easy to convert, also most agents/distributors insist on receiving scripts by email ? not always but mostly
