moreI was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. I always had my hand in entertainment either as a singer, dancer and now actor. As a kid, I used to dress up in my mother's clothes and pretend that I was being interviewed to be a "star"...then one day my mother overheard me talking and said, "baby, you have to be discovered". I was shocked!!!! discovered, OMGosh that will take forever I thought. So, I tried to be in any and everything that would potentially get me "discovered". I was in a singing group back in the 1980's, rollerskating, clubs, drill teams, pageants and talent showcases but after graduating high school the entertainment dream took a backseat.
Over the next 19 years, I became a registered nurse, wife and mother. I thought that "dream" had dissipated until my husband said, "why don't you ACT because you would be awesome and the world need to see a fresh face!" I said, "I never had any lessons and now I'm too old". Dispite my insecurity my husband pushed me to sign with a casting company...MOVIEWORKNOW CASTING in Phoenix. In 2weeks, (first audition) I landed a PAID commercial! After the commercial, I landed first PAID film and the ball has been rolling ever since. Recently, I found myself on the cover of a book titled "IT STARTED AT THE CHURCH" now being sold in book stores and online. Then I was asked to do the film trailer THEN I was asked to be the lead in the feature length film due to shoot in early 2012.
Lastly, I am the LEAD in the stage play TRIUMPH OVER TRAGEDY. The story of Tonya Allen, a child abuse victim and her climb from broken to queen. I am so grateful for all of my accomplishments: in the last year, I have been in close to 30 films, commercials, stage and industrials. That goes to show you that sometimes what you plan is not the path that you may follow. All dreams can come true if you believe in yourself and your abilities. In my case, it was my husband's belief in me and the support he has given me to push me down this path....I am so very grateful :)
