Situation: An mysterious comic book clerk saves a young woman from getting raped and befriends a young boy at a comic book store. After establishing a family like relationship with them, they save him from a life of isolation and loneliness. He saves them from a group of drug dealers when the boy witnesses murder.
Synopsis:
Graphic is a character driven action/drama blending realistic characters and plot, with a unique comic book theme and romanticism. Chris is a mild mannered nobody who works as an assistant manager at a comic book store.He’s someone that no one would ever take notice let alone consider a threat. It is exactly what he wants everyone to believe. Underneath Chris a skilled fighter efficient in the Filipino Martial arts and blade weaponry. 5 years ago, he used his skills to avenge a horrible crime, but left him scarred. His circle has not yet closed.
Sharon is an aspiring dancer and songwriter. Leaving her dysfunctional family behind she moves to the city to pursue her dream of joining the Pennsylvania Ballet. During the day she works as a waitress and attends the University of the arts on a partial scholarship. . She dates her rich boyfriend Damon out of necessity and need. He co-owns the club and claims to have connections in the entertainment business.
Jamie an 10 yr old boy who lives down the hall from Sharon. He escapes into a world of comic books in order to deal with sad situation of having drug addict for a mother who is being pimped out by her abusive loser boyfriend. Sharon takes care of him from time to time, taken up the role as a surrogate mother.
Chris doesn’t enter either of their lives until one fateful night when Sharon catches her boyfriend with another woman at a night club. Upset and distraught she storms out alone. Two thugs who harassed her earlier in the club grab her and drag her into an alleyway in order to rape her. From out of nowhere, using his martial arts skills, Chris beats up both thugs and saves Sharon’s life. He then carries her unconscious to her apartment but leaves after she wakes up. When Chris protects him one night from two of crack addicts burglarizing an apartment, and later on from his mother’s boyfriend, he personifies Jamie’s imaginary superhero: Avenger.
Sharon and Jamie in turn save Chris from his own loneliness. Bonding with Jamie, Chris becomes a surrogate father figure as Sharon is the mother sharing their love for comic book art. With Sharon a friendship begins with slowly evolves into a possible romance. But a violent past still haunts Chris. The conflict is the subplot concerning Sharon’s boyfriend, Damon . He’s become very lucrative dealing Ecstasy through his clientel and connections and plans to produce a new designer drug into the market known as Fahrenheit 481. His partners are T, their enforcer and a former soldier from the Latin Kings and Randy, a college chemist who creates their product. To finance their new venture, they murder a local drug dealer and steal his heroin in order to go into business with a Russian mobster. Unfortunately, this action puts their own lives in danger which results in Damon committing other acts of murder. When Jamie witnesses Damon commit one of the murders he becomes a target along with Sharon. Fatefully, The only one who is able to protect them is a mild mannered comic book clerk possessing no superpowers ---only the art of Fist and Blade. Chris’s past, his life, is about to come full circle.
