Though I'd rather not, I can shoot my movie with skeleton crew by making creative shot selections and replacing crew with robot-like technology. The cost-effective digital technology also means if necessary I can replace professional actors as a cost-cutting choice with untrained ones, 'cause even if you have to shoot a scene 40 times to get it right, the cost of digital storage and media is minimal compared to film. And unlike film, it's erasable and reusable.
We live in a great time to be a movie-maker. We have the ability to shoot on High end affordable camera equipment and then finish a movie in our spare-bedroom studio using a computer and apps like the Adobe CS suites.
And now there is a new self-distribution model called ODEMAX that will make it possible for good content to get distributed to theaters as well as to homes in 4k definition (8 times the data of 1080p) and be profitable for the movie-maker and participants instead of the big bucks accruing to the distributor.
