Milo Coello

Music composer from Los Angeles, California

Milo Coello is a multi-instrumentalist composer for Films, Television, and New Media graduated from Berklee College of Music.
He is currently the composer and founder of Sine Motif Productions, and Music Department Director & Composer of Vision Studio Productions.

Milo has written music in all genres for over 30 films, documentaries, animations, web-series, commercials, trailers and music libraries around the world, and has won awards as a film scorer, as a songwriter and as a performer.

Having graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music, where he received 3 scholarships and dual majored in Film Scoring and Performance, Milo is currently participating in all kinds of projects, succeeding in adding to each of them a unique color, quality and personality through his music. His experience has gained the communicational skills necessary to effectively translate words, thoughts, and emotions into music.

Milo was born in Mexico City. He started taking piano lessons when he was 5 years old, composing his first piece by the age of 7. His interest on the rhythmic and percussive side of music grew, and by the age of 11 he began studying drum set, which would become his principal instrument. After attending for one year the Academy of Music Fermatta when he was 15 years old, curiosity and ambition led him to pick up guitar and bass, and become a studio singer. Passionate about learning new instruments, he now studies clarinet, Indian bansuri and alto sax, among others.

Today, Milo works from his studio in Los Angeles, CA where he can perform, record and produce professional scores for his projects. He also works on as many projects locally as he does internationally through the Internet (e.g. England, India, Ireland, Japan, France, Poland, Canada and Mexico).
For larger live recording sessions, Milo uses the Multi-Grammy award winning Igloo Music Studios.

Among his work as a film composer, Milo has scored multi-award winning films such as "Tengo Miedo", "How Do You Spell Love?" as well as "Superkid", an award-winning Tropicana commercial. He also wrote additional arrangements for the "Iron Chef America & Next Iron Chef" Soundtrack.

As an accomplished live and studio drummer, Milo has performed in over 100 different venues internationally, sharing the stage with great musicians such as Steve Gadd, Luis Conte, and John Blackwell among others, as well as played/recorded with dozens of bands in various genres.

More recently, as an orchestral arranger, Milo has worked with multiple songwriters including maestro Armando Manzanero.

Milo's musicality, his passion to turn feelings into music, and his love for details, classical arrangements and ethnic instruments, have helped his music and sensitivity towards film evolve, having now a deeper and more powerful understanding of the relationships and harmony between music, sound, orchestration and film.
