I live in Santa Monica, have written for years, but only recently published a Novel. It is perfect for a LifeTime Movie. I am getting great reviews. I plan on publishing some of my other Novels in the near future. I am open to offers. http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Butterflies-John-Charles-Harman/dp/1456327364/ref=sr11?ie=UTF8&qid=1328504027&sr=8-1

Rex, As an independent film producer with some 30 films to my credit, your honesty and insight are refreshingly welcomed. I wish more people in our industry had the guts you (and Alexander Payne) have exhibited by the choices you made. I especially identified with the following section: "In fact, I never really started writing because one day a flare went off in my head that I had to be a writer - and a filmmaker, etc. No, it just, willy-nilly, became who I was. I had no choice. It enveloped me like some spirit strangling me to reveal my soul and that just, as the years went by, became my life, who I was, who I am. I did not choose it. It chose me and wouldn't let go. How low can you go and still turn on your laptop? is what I tell young writers setting out to make a life out of it. And therein lies the real truth: can you live this life?" I too came to this same conclusion (and many others you so accurately point out in this posting) about film-making and often tell the kids and friends of the people in my life who are interested in a career in film that unless they wake up and can think of nothing ELSE they would rather do, don't do this. I wish you continued success with your work and personally look forward to your future output. Best, John Saviano Old School Pictures
I am asking everyone in my network to at least check out my project and watch my pitch video for my new film http://www.indiegogo.com/exorcism You can donate as little as $1 but even if you don't want to donate you can help spread the word through Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you soon. All the best.
