The Trap

London, United Kingdom

Post-production

About the project.

The TRAP is a Comedy/Horror feature film. It's been shot and cut, all that's left is the sound. We need your help to get it finished!

The TRAP came about when Islington Council offered us use of the abandoned Hornsey Road bathhouse to shoot a film. We only had six weeks before the builders came in to transform the building into a brand new arts centre. So we had a deadline. Six weeks to write, cast and shoot a feature. It was a monster challenge but with a great and loyal team around us, we were successful. We now have a fantastic, terrifying and hilarious comedy/horror feature in the can. What we need is a sound mix and to get a composer on board.

What is the film about?

The GOONIES meets SAW in this hilarious, fast-paced, gory thriller.
Two very different groups arrive at the same place on the same night after the same thing, a hoard of ancient treasure buried deep within a massive, abandoned Victorian bath house.
One is a group of professional cat burglars. The other is a bunch of misfit, unemployed youngsters looking for a night of fun and adventure.
There's only one thing standing between them and riches beyond their wildest dreams, and it's not the other group.
A deranged security guard has spent decades preparing the building against invasion and has set up deadly and disturbing traps throughout the labyrinth.
Who will survive the night? How many pieces will they be in? When will the next trap be sprung?

About us.

FMW Films was set up in 2008 by Alan Freestone (Director/Writer), Fergus March (Director/Actor www.fergusmarch.co.uk) and James Wren (Actor/Writer www.jameswren.co.uk) in order to shoot the micro-budget feature PEACOCK SEASON at the Edinburgh Festival. The resulting film, where all the roles were played by festival veterans and stand-up comedians, received a standing ovation at its premiere at the Edinburgh Festival in 2009.

After PEACOCK SEASON (Available at www.gofasterstripe.com ), the team embarked on another micro-budget feature: THE TRAP, a comedy/horror filmed entirely on location in an abandoned Victorian bath house in London. (Currently in post-production).

FMW are at present in production on their third micro-budget feature THE MAN YOU’RE NOT, a romantic comedy (Cast includes: Joanna Lumley, Reece Shearsmith and Matthew Wright) and are in development with Sinner Films (Glasgow) and Pope Productions (Canada) on a new feature CASTLE BAY.
