moreI have been a fan of film since back when I was a little kid. I spend all my spare time watching movies. Back in 1999, I wrote a screenplay about my life in the Boston club scene in the late 90's with The Roxy(Boston) as it's central focus. It was a time in my life that completely blew my mind and some of the best years of my life. I have been trying for years to get this project funded and filmed. Back in 2000, I actually had an investor and was ready to go and then 911 happened and they pulled out the funding in fear of an economic crash. I have had offers to sell my screenplay in the past but I chose not to sell because it is MY story and is very dear to me and the risk of the script being changed or just sitting on a shelf somewhere never to be made makes my skin crawl. I continue to write and this first script "X-NIGHTS", is starting to turn into a trilogy. I want to do it myself, independently and follow in the footsteps of other great Boston independent filmmakers like Johnny Hickey ("Oxy-Morons"), Jay Giannone ("Scalpers") and Daryl C. Silva ("Boys").....
This whole vdeo promo thing started off when I did a small short film/slideshow of my journey on the 2011 Groove Cruise in January of 2011. After the huge response in views that I got on YouTube, and for the fact that I am also a nightclub promoter here in Boston, I came up with the idea of video promoting using YouTube and Facebook. As a promoter, it is frustrating to spend so much time sending out those invites that people either delete or don't read. So, I started making these interesting little 2 minute video promos for clubs and DJs in the Boston/Rhode Island area and they are getting popular to the point that my fans start to look forward to when I post a new one. It also has been getting more people out to the clubs to see featured DJs on a regular basis. Bottom line is that people are more apt to watch an interesting 2 minute video than read an annoying Facebook Invite!
