This was a busy year for me and 2012 is already shaping up to being even busier, but in a good way. I'm grateful for all the friends I've met through this and other networking sites and I look forward to getting to know you all better in the coming year. May this be a creative and prosperous New Year for all of us! MIchael

I am asking everyone in my network to at least check out my project and watch my pitch video for my new film http://www.indiegogo.com/exorcism You can donate as little as $1 but even if you don't want to donate you can help spread the word through Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you soon. All the best.

Rex, thanks for such an honest recounting of the events (and the postscript was certainly an unexpected bonus!). I'm ashamed to admit it, but I probably am one of the few film-lover-cum-screenwriters who never saw Sideways. I could regale you with lame excuses of the "dog ate my homework variety," but suffice it to say I lamed out. Hopefully, I've redeemed myself by purchasing the Kindle editions of both Sideways and Vertical.

For the record, I didn't detect a hint of "whining" in this series (a reference to another comment below). Rather, I look at this as a frank and sobering recitation of events from the man who knows the trials & tribulations of such a ride best. Few of us will have the same fortune.

Thanks, Michael. The good news is: you still have a film worth checking out. The bad news is: you'll have missed seeing it in a theater where, with a sold-out audience, it was electrifying. I'll never forget the closing night of the N.Y. FF -- 2,000+ people at the Alice Tully Hall. That was an incredible night. The comedy, and the audience, was just raucous beyond believf. Oh, well, time to create something else that will result in the same.

I look forward to it (and promise myself I will see it in the theater :-) )
