About
A mother takes her two children on a journey back to her roots. A tale of beginnings, brotherhood and tremendous stories. Description Orange Lions is a film that challenges the viewer to see beyond their own preconceptions of normality. We discuss the topics of depression and bi-polar personalities, often avoided and ignored by society. We also delve into relationships between brothers and what happens when you are forced to grow up too fast and take on more responsibility than you should have to.
We are looking for funding in order to shoot the best film we can. All the money will go directly into the film, enabling us to hire the best equipment, pay our lovely actors and not have to swim to Scotland. The finished film will be used to promote awareness of mental health and how it affects those closest to the sufferer.
Here is a note from the director
"I wrote the script with a friend of mine Carrie Wemyss who is from Edinburgh. We have been wanting to make this film together for a couple of years now, the script took us a while to write because it is very personal to both of us with references to our own lives and the people within it. The story we created around that element however is completely fictional and we hope really helps to create a feeling that I am sure a lot of us growing up have had. We wanted to make a film that deals with the complexities of youth, to do this we knew would require subtelty and patience. The tone of the film is very important to us and we needed to find a location that reflected that, which is why we have decided to shoot it on the Isle of Mull. The landscape up there is breath taking but also wild and bleak, we have found a cottage up there in Fionnphort that we intend to use as our main location, it’s such a beautiful and isolated surrounding to set our film. "
We have been wanting to make this film for such a long time and feel very passionately about it any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated.
