Molly tells a story of a teenager from an underprivileged family who through her reckless behavior gets tricked and forced into prostitution. This short was written as a reaction to an article about forced prostitution in Washington State to highlight how easy it is for young women to fall prey of modern day pimps. Through this project I would like to raise awareness of the issue and inspire change.
Screenplay is currently 15 pages long but could potentially be expanded into a feature. As the director I would like to focus on actor's performances, breathtaking visuals and strong characters as a way to tell the story without overcomplicating it with expensive elaborate shots. I intend to give it a more simplistic, European approach yet be very effective in storytelling.
