moreI received my Bachelors in Fine Arts in Art History from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. After graduation became interested in film and video and began a video art career. For the past ten years I have been working on creating videos for touring musicians, art gallery and museum installations, editing music videos, both in studio and mixing videos live. This led to pursuing a Masters in Fine Arts in Motion Pictures/Television with a focus in Editing. I have a MFA in Motion Picture/Television editing from the Academy Art University in San Francisco, CA.
My first memory of film was my experience in a theatre. E.T. was the film, which changed my perspective on the world. Amazed by the depths in which film can touch and stir the human being, I decided to make film at the young age of 2, or at least the seeds were planted in my mind. That experience has shaped me artistically and created a path leading to becoming an editor.
In college I got involved with the electronic music scene, where DJ’s and VJ’s were the gods and goddess of technology and art combined. I created animation and shot video to mix with at live music events around the country.
This parlayed into making music videos for Bitter:Sweet, a band out of Los Angeles, As well as for the band Devotchka out of Denver CO (Devotchka did the soundtrack for the film "Little Miss Sunshine"). Museum and art gallery installations have also been on my path, exposing me to a variety of ways to edit and exhibit films.
Currently, I am working as a freelance editor in the Bay Area on commercials, documentaries, and short films. Please contact me if you are in need of an editor or an assistant editor on your next film project.
