About Robert

Born in 1982 and raised in East Berlin in a family of artists, musicians (Pascal von Wroblewsky) and philosophers (Vincent von Wroblewsky), Robert began his first cinematic experiments at the age of twelve. A small VHS video camera started it all - YouTube & digital editing didn't exist yet.

Stories were invented and the craft learned in a film studio. Acting in a theatre group opened up new horizons and cinematic possibilities.

The philosopher and Sartre translator Vincent de Wroblewsky inspired new ways of thinking. Social issues became more and more part of new projects.

Always accompanied by his own music, in various projects and formations, sometimes under a pseudonym, it influenced his filmmaking and led to new forms of expression. Among them is the documentary "Perm 36 - The Last Gulag". A film about the human rights festival Pilorama in the only Gulag museum in Russia.

In 2014, the debut feature film "The Last Drop" was released in German art-house cinemas with the support of well-known German actors.

A children's film ("Time is running"), which combines existential themes with a light tone, followed in 2020.

In Autumn 2023, the widely acclaimed feature film "Endlight" was released.
