South African born actor, Sean Cameron Michael, started acting professionally at the age of twelve in musical theatre, performing the role of Louis in The King & I and Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof at the ArtsCape Opera House in Cape Town.

With over thirty productions under his belt, highlights include the Vita Award winning, On the Open Road, at the Civic Theatre in Johannesburg and recently as Father Huddleston in the Naledi award-winning musical-opera, The Mandela Trilogy (based on the life-story of Nobel Peace Prizewinner, Nelson Mandela).
Michael trained at the Maas-Phillips College of Speech and Drama, as well as privately with Peter Kelley (New York), Paul Weber (Los Angeles) and Joe Bill (Chicago).
He became a household name in his home country as a TV presenter on SABC’s Teleschool, as well as playing the recurring role of Brett in the popular soap opera, Egoli and the leading role of Miles Stuart in the South African version of the UK cult drama This Life.
In 2006 Michael played Fergus Buchan in director Regardt van den Bergh’s multi-award winning feature film Faith Like Potatoes. This was followed by Mnet’s dramatic mini-series, Ella Blue, for director Darrell James Roodt.
Internationally, Michael was first seen back in 1997 in the popular US TV series, The Adventures of Sinbad, as Young Timur. He then played a number of cameo roles in British and American TV series and features, including CI5: The New Professionals, Ernest in the Army, Pavement, Home Alone 4, Shark Attack 2, Pirates of the Plain, Blast and Charlie Jade.
In 2005 he landed the support lead role of Don Beatty in Bryan Singer and Dean Devlin’s Emmy winning sci-fi mini-series, The Triangle (opposite Bruce Davison and Sam Neill).
2008 was a bumper year for Sean internationally, playing the title role in Allan Quatermain & the Temple of Skulls; psychotic Cockney mutineer, Nolan Moore, in NBC’s Golden Reel Award-winning adventure series Crusoe; and as French United Nations worker, Charles Solenz, in Fox’s multi Emmy and Golden Globe winning feature 24: Redemption (opposite Jon Voight and Kiefer Sutherland). Over 12 million viewers tuned into FOX for the film premier. Adam Buckman from the NY Post was quoted as saying that 24 had found a new villain in Africa and that Michael's character was “possibly the most spineless character ever created for the series.”
This was followed by the Oscar and Golden Globe nominated Invictus for director Clint Eastwood; the Prism Award-winning Natalee Holloway (Sony Pictures); Albert Schweitzer (Warner Bros); and Outcasts for BBC America.
In 2011 Michael appeared in Lost Boys: The Thirst (Warner Bros); Beaver Falls (BBC); Infested! (Animal Planet); Get Out Alive (Discovery); and the Primetime Emmy winning America: The Story of Us as Thomas Edison (scoring the highest viewership ratings in network TV history for the History Channel.)
In 2012 Michael played the lead in Animal Planet’s TV special, Mermaids: The Body Found, scoring the highest viewership ratings for the channel since 2003. Other credits included Death Race 3: Inferno (Universal), HBO’s Golden Globe nominated The Girl and the popular Strike Back TV series (HBO/Sky). He also provided the voice of the Landlord in Universal’s global hit, Safe House (opposite Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds).
Upcoming releases include Feynman and the Challenger (opposite Oscar winner William Hurt) for BBC Films and Jimmy in Pink for director Hanneke Schutte (Light & Dark Films).
Michael recently joined the main cast of the Michael Bay produced pirate adventure drama series Black Sails for STARZ Entertainment currently filming in South Africa.
