moreTawnya Bhattacharya currently writes for the hit TV series, THE CLIENT LIST on Lifetime and recently worked on USA's FAIRLY LEGAL. She began teaching screenwriting at Writers Boot Camp in 2005 where she helped hundreds of writers at various levels create and develop their screenplay projects through courses and script consultations. Some were beginners, others were executives and producers with decades of industry experience. Several went on to win contests, festivals and fellowships, produce TV, Features and Webisodes, secure representation, sign option agreements, work for hire on assignments and sell their screenplays as a result.
Then life intervened, as it does, and she found herself jetting back and forth between Los Angeles and India for two years where she worked and wrote full time. However, many of her former students continued to seek her advice, feedback and motivation. And Tawnya missed teaching. So she began a private story consultation service, and since returning to Los Angeles permanently in 2010, founded Script Anatomy to help writers of all levels reach their personal writing goals and elevate their storytelling through private script consultation, writer coaching sessions, group classes and seminars.
As a writer and instructor who understands that honing your craft is a lifelong process, Tawnya continues to study and expand her knowledge. A fine arts graduate from Cornish College of the Arts Convservatory and Writers Boot Camp, she has taken Robert McKee’s “Story”, Blake Snyder’s “Save The Cat”, Jen Grisanti Consultancy’s “Spec & Pilot Tele-Seminars” and William C. Martell’s “Naked Screenwriting” – not taught or taken naked, thank God!
Bhattacharya and her writing partner, Ali Laventhol, are repped by RAIN MANAGEMENT and ICM Partners. The team’s “Nurse Jackie” spec got them into NBC’s Writers On The Verge 2010. They currently have two optioned features and are in development with their original pilot, “Bullet.” Tawnya’s solo work includes an optioned TV pilot at FOX, several optioned features and writing assignments. Her TV pilot “Grand Coulee,” was one of six scripts selected for the FOX Writer’s Intitiative. Bhattacharya/Laventhol are thrilled to be writing for the amazingly talented and lovely, Jennifer Love Hewitt.
For those writers who are interested in her services, Tawnya will meet for a free half-hour consultation that can be done in person or on the phone to discuss their specific needs and goals.
