moreRyan Gavan is a screenwriter living in sunny Los Angeles, California. He began writing his own screenplays in the spring of 2011. Since then, he has had two of his shorts films produced, finished two feature scripts and a video game script. He is currently working on two other feature scripts.
He grew up traveling all over the country where he literally has lived in all four corners of the United States. He was born in Red Bank, NJ where his roots to some extent still lay. At the age of 10, Ryan and his family moved from the densely populated East Coast to the isolated, desert landscape of Northern Nevada. It was there, in the confines of the desert, that Ryan developed and pursued his love of both film and music. He began playing guitar, joined a band and watched movies almost twenty-four hours a day.
After high school, Ryan found himself in Spokane, WA attending Eastern Washington University where he studied business. With the initial intent of pursuing a career in marketing allowing him to have an outlet for his creativity. After finding this to not be fulfilling, he applied for admission to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. While attending Berklee, Ryan believed his creative path to be one of music. So much so, he left school early for the sunny weather of Los Angeles to pursue music.
While in Los Angeles, Ryan’s fiancé, Angela, convinced him to take a screenwriting class after hearing one of his ideas for a film. This day was a life altering experience. It was in this class that Ryan found his path as well as his voice. Ryan lives in Hollywood, CA with his fiancé, Angela and their dog, Boston. He spends his free time playing guitar, hanging out with friends and rooting for the Boston Celtics.
