Allan Raffel

I'm a filmmaker based in Glasgow.
My aim is to direct emotion, photograph life and edit stories.

After several years education in music performance and acting, it finally dawned on me that I might be on the wrong end of the camera... Awkward.

Luckily for me, I was surrounded by some very encouraging people, who were very supportive of my new obsession, even when I was reciting film-making blogs at 3am.

I've been privileged enough to work on a lot of great projects over the past few years, ranging from short promotional pieces to longer narrative stories.

I see every project as an opportunity to express myself and an opportunity to learn more about the visual language of film.

I believe that the story should drive every decision on a project. It's the stories that I go to the cinema to get lost in and it's the stories that I get lost in at work.
