Amy Wiedmaier

Screenwriter and script consultant in Los Angeles, California

About Amy

Amy Wiedmaier grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Amongst the misty pine-covered mountains, Amy read the works of Stephen King, and listened to her father’s countless ghost stories. She loves the Alien series by Dan O’Bannon and Ridley Scott, Alfred Hitchcock, and the Film Noir genre. Her first feature film script, Written Off, is a psychological thriller about a serial killer hunting a police officer, who is overcoming mental illness.

Amy knew she wanted to be a writer from a young age. She wrote novellas throughout her youth, and she studied Biology and Criminal Justice at Lower Columbia College and Whatcom Community College. When she moved to Bellingham, WA, she hosted an ongoing Murder Mystery Night with a large cast of recurring characters and long, intricate story plots. She graduated from Vancouver Film School with a spec script for the procedural show Castle, a sci-fi/fantasy action feature Autumn’s Fall, her psychological thriller Written Off, the animated pilots Raven’s Quest and Valkyrie Program, and the character study short film Second Dates.

Amy is a creator with a passion for language, compelling narratives, and the endless pursuit of knowledge. As a transgender woman, she would like to be a role model of positive representation for those around her.
