About Arndt

Arndt Schwering-Sohnrey appeared in the Academy Award-winning The Counterfeiters directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky (2007). They had previously worked together on Anatomy (2000), which was the most successful movie thriller in Germany ever.
Two years later in 2009 he appeared in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds and Michael Haneke's The White Ribbon which won the Golden Globe in 2009. He worked with Michael Fassbender again in David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method as well as with Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightly.
He was in the Canadian series X Company and the British movie Mrs.Ratcliffe's Revolution. He has played Billy Wilder, Roi Charles VII and Joseph Goebbels.
This year he is going to shoot again on Tatort, Germany's most successful TV detective series and in Ireland as Sergeant Wiggins in the Inspector Jury series, based on the novels by American author Martha Grimes. Earlier this year he worked in London on the new BBC series SS-GB starring Sam Riley, as well as The City and the City, shot in Manchester. Other projects he will be shooting in 2018 include Jerusalem in Cardiff, Wales.
Arndt is an actor, director, producer and acting teacher. He started to make his own short films when he was fourteen. He
studied acting at the University of Hannover in Germany and later worked with teachers from the United States like Ivana Chubbuck and Eric Morris.
He has played leading and supporting roles in film, television and theatre. He was critically acclaimed for his leads in the independent movie Loneliness of the Crocodiles (1999) playing a
pigman and in the very popular TV series Tatort: Das Verlorene Kind as a heavily mentally handicapped suspect
