Tugume Benon, also commonly known as Benie, sometimes Guapo is born, raised and living in Kampala, Uganda -- 'The Pearl of Africa'.

He is the Director and C.E.O for GUAPO FILMZ LIMITED.

Benie is a freelance Screenwriter, Director, Actor and Commercial Model.

For as long as he could remember, he has been a creative writer, creating stories in his mind and writing them out on paper from as young as teenager. He took up serious creative writing as a passion, hobby and talent right after his University studies; rather than walking the streets everyday looking for employment ... he has never looked back since then, it only gets better and more fun.

He holds a bachelors of Science in I.T from Sikkim Manipal University - INDIA, Graduate class 2011. Therefore an I.T Specialist by profession. He is Highly Creative, Innovative, A great Communicator, Open Minded Business Strategist, Professional Screenwriter. A passionate multi talented self taught film maker.

Among other achievements, Benie is best known for Acting and Co-Directing 'New Intentions', a Ugandan film written by Kennedy Kihire. The film was released on 3 May 2016 at Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC). The film was nominated in six categories at the 2016 Uganda Film Festival including Best Screenplay, Best Sound, Best cinematography, Film of the Year, Best lead Actress and Best Feature Film, Best film director/Film of year.

Also in 2024, yet again as a second AD for another Kenedy Kihire Film - TYING THE KNOT; A hilarious episodic series sitcom that follows the life of Karungi, a young African wedding planner in the heart of Kampala, Uganda. Every episode she tries to make successful weddings amidst all the cultural differences of the couples.

He aspires to tell stories of significance. He seeks to create unforgettable moments that remind others of our common humanity -- to inspire, encourage, comfort, expose, challenge -- and to bear witness in his works to the reality, the beauty, the excitement and the mystery of life.

His aspiration is also to produce films, multimedia, audiovisuals that are a form of art -- not merely to entertain, but to provoke emotion and reflection, incite action, and
have long-lasting effects on those who experience them.

As a filmmaker, he has a distinctive voice and perspective, and steadfast passion for cinema.
