About Cruz

Cruz Andronico Fernandez is an author, filmmaker, musician and media junkie. He utilizes a free form prose style and strong character voice in everything he creates. Cruz is constantly in development and/or production on different projects using various mediums including comics, video and board games, screenplays, narrative fiction, short and feature films, and Transmedia experiences.

Cruz has had stories published in 365 Tomorrows and Poor Mojo’s Almanac. He won first place in the Comedy/Spoken Word category of the Page One literary performance competition at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Cruz has earned his BFA from the intense Creative Writing for Entertainment program at Full Sail University, in Orlando, Florida.

He currently resides in Newman, California. Cruz is currently working as an After School Program Leader. As an ASP Leader he hangs out with kids, plays video games, and teaches filmmaking and comic book writing.

His current project is "R Street Metal-Heads," a web series about the clash of youthful dreams against the unforgiving world of methamphetamine addiction in small town America. Told from the perspective of a rising Chicano heavy metal band, the series will explore heavy metal and Hispanic culture and the effects of drug and alcohol abuse on America's youth.
