In 2010, DH Lewis moved back to the Los Angeles area to rediscover, and re-establish her acting career. She had left the industry, and LA, approximately 18 years ago, due to a divorce, with child custody issues. When DH's daughter, now 21, left for college @ CSUMB in Monterey, CA, there was nothing remaining to keep her 'stuck' where she and her daughter had relocated, and so she chose to jump back into fulfilling the acting passion and dreams that she had so reluctantly left behind.
Earlier in her career, DH had appeared in several NYC off-broadway plays, had a recurring role on One Life to Live, did several small film roles, and in LA, she had a principle role in Clean Slate with Dana Carvey, appeared as a bald Centaurian in Babylon 5, and had worked with some great directors, such as Mick Jackson, Jonathan Demme, and more.
After her departure from LA, D.H. returned to college to further her fine art and graphic art career, and she started playing competitive tennis on a college tennis team at the age of 40! She won several individual athletic awards and their college tennis team, The Gauchos, won The California State Conference!
During these years away, DH made a living by doing her artwork: painting, children's portraits, illustrations, package designs, computer graphics, and also taught art at a private art academy. She also appeared as Blanche, in a production of Brighton Beach Memoirs. The acting bug just wouldn’t go away. DH is a determined individual that is driven and likes to keep busy!
Since her return to LA, to recharge her acting skills, and to learn about all of the changes that have occurred in the industry since her departure, DH has been attending cold reading workshops, has done several showcases, took an intensive Acting for the Camera workshop with renowned director, Bethany Rooney, and is taking ongoing acting classes with acting coach, Amy Lyndon.
She has recently been featured on several TV shows, worked on Transformers 3, The Dark Moon with Michael Bay, has performed in student thesis projects, done several infomercials, has recently completed filming: in the lead role of Mona in the indie feature film Vampires & Demons, she also has just completed indie feature film Then Again, playing the lead role of Claire, and she will begin filming @the end of January, in Death Suspects a Murder in the supporting role of Congresswoman Angela Conners.
DH is currently managed by Face2Face Entertainment Talent Management, and has just signed on to be represented commercially and theatrically by The Polygon Group Talent Agency. She is excitedly looking forward to great things to come!
DH Lewis truly believes that “it is never too late to reach for your dreams and to fulfill your passion”!
