Raised in the South Bronx, the home of the Hip Hop Culture and the Roots of Salsa, in a household full of music, arts and love, Deena Clemente developed her love for dance, her skills to battle, perform and strong cultural Nuyorican roots in neighborhood house parties, park jams, block parties, talent showcases in the PAL and local cable station programs with her 80’s dance crew “The Unique Force” (TUF)

With a list of blessed opportunities to her name including, Diplomatic Ambassador for the United States as a Hip Hop Dance and Culture Educator, Adjunct Professor at Hunter College in NYC and co-creator a wellness brand, Tru Essencia Inc. with her childhood best friend and soul sister Wandee Candelario.

Today you can find Tru Essencia (TEC) sharing the Hip Hop history, the Elements of the culture and experience of the powerful movement from NYC to Abroad teaching their signature dance class Snap, Pop n’ Rock: ‘Organic Hip Hop Style for Wellness’, where they combine Mindful Medicine for your Mind, Body, Heart, Soul and Spirit.
