Hello, my name is Joseph Evans and I am currently a San Jose based freelance crewember and honors graduate of California State University Monterey Bay's Cinematic Arts Deptartment.
My interest in film and production extends back into his sophmore year of high school when he began working technical crew for his school's plays, building an interest in lighting and back stage work. Film and Production came later watching content from Roosterteeth and Freddie Wong, favoring the sheer open nature of their content. Behind the scenes, how-to videos, all of it caught my interest and soon I began wondering how I could do the same.
Since entering the original Teledramatic Arts Dept. of CSUMB back in Fall of 2013, I've worked my way onto a variety of student productions in a myriad of roles though found myself favoring gaffing and other on set roles as opposed to post production. Some have been trials, expreriencing hardship on set and moments that tested professional and even personal relationships at times. Others have been likely some of the best days of my life and have heped cement friendships I hope will last for years to come.
Namely I enjoy the energy of being on set working alongside motivated individuals coming together to use their talents to create something people will enjoy.
I am always interested in learning more in an ever shifting environment where everyday is a new challenge, working hands on with different technoogies and personalities, and above all making people laugh and enjoy themselves. Find a job like that and one could never want for happiness in my opinion.
Unique traits: Hard working, adaptable, and detail oriented. I prefer the technical aspects of the job but can fall into most roles easily with little instruction.
