About Holly

Holly Amber Church has scored many films including the recently released supernatural horror THE TOYBOX, starring Denise Richards and Mischa Barton and the Shudder film, RUIN ME. She also wrote the orchestral thematic score for Padraig Reynolds’ supernatural thriller THE DEVIL’S DOLLS and the gritty score for his crime thriller/horror feature RITES OF SPRING, both which were released by IFC Midnight. Holly’s other current projects include the inspiring biopic BUTTERFLY IN THE TYPEWRITER with director David DuBos, the psychological thriller OPEN 24 HOURS and the creature feature DARK LIGHT - once again teaming up with director Padraig Reynolds.

Holly was a finalist in the Turner Classic Movies National Young Film Composers Competition twice and won the Gold Remi Award for her music for the film WRAITH at the Worldfest International Film Festival. Her score for RUIN ME was nominated for Best Original Score at the inaugural Women in Horror Film Festival. Holly attended the University of Southern California’s Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program. She was selected as a participant for the 2014 ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop and for the 2018 Film Conducting Intensive in Los Angeles held at Warner Bros. Studios.

    Film (Biography) Composer A little-known historical event that happened in South Louisiana in 1926, The Trappers War was a blood feud that erupted between local Islenos (original Canary Island immigrants) and Leander Perez, a powerful politician who tried to usurp the valuable fur-trapping land for his own agenda. The Isleno Trappers had been "squatting" on marshland for many years, trapping muskrat and mink, and when fur prices shot up, Perez made a shrewd land deal that enabled him to jack up the rent on the land. When the Trappers balked, Perez tried to push them off the land right before trapping season. He brought in mercenaries from Texas to enforce his eviction order, and violence erupted. One St. Bernard sheriff's deputy was killed in the gunfire, and Perez never set foot in St. Bernard Parish again.

Things are going great until the bank managers begin to realize that the robbers are non-violent and therefore no threat to them or their employees, changing the game for the Bandits. To add to the complications, a bored & unhappy housewife (Blanchett) ends up in the hands of the criminals, and begins to have romantic feelings for both Willis and Thornton, causing a sticky love triangle.
