I have recently completed two documentary feature film projects, serving as Producer, Director, Writer, and Editor under my Lightning Digital Entertainment banner. “Repeat Offender” is a feature length documentary based on Bradley Nickell’s best selling true crime book. The film is being distributed by Global Genesis Group, releasing June 18th on Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, & the Microsoft Store for digital purchase & rental. “The Wounded Blue” is a feature length documentary chronicling the powerful stories that inspired the creation of Lt. Randy Sutton’s The Wounded Blue organization. The film is also being distributed by Global Genesis Group. "The Wounded Blue" debuted March 15th on Amazon, iTunes, & the Microsoft Store for both digital purchase and rental.
In September, 2017, I released my first feature length documentary film titled "The Basketball Family". The film, for which I served as Producer, Director, Writer, and Editor, chronicles the playing career of retired NBA player and former Purdue University standout Doug Lee and his transition from professional basketball to coaching, as he takes the reigns of the Calvary Chapel Christian School Lions Boys Varsity Basketball team in Las Vegas, Nevada. Using a faith based approach, Coach Lee mentors and leads his team of young men as they navigate through the highs and lows of the 2016 season. After a year long run in the film festival and awards circuit, where the film garnered numerous awards and festival selections, "The Basketball Family" is now available for rental & purchase from Christian Cinema.
My production company, Lightning Digital Entertainment, continues to focus on developing projects at the feature film level.
The Wounded Blue
Documentary by Lightning Digital Entertainment (Crime and Documentary) Producer, Director, Editor, Writer Lightning Digital Entertainment is proud to present the feature documentary "The Wounded Blue", a film which tells the powerful stories of six Police Officers who inspired the creation of Lieutenant Randy Sutton's The Wounded Blue Foundation. The story explores several critical and important issues facing law enforcement professionals today including PTSD, Police Suicide, and the financial ruin a Police Officer can incur after suffering a career ending injury in the line of duty. Solutions are also put forth, as the film examines the importance of peer counseling, as well as the need for several legislative changes within a system that is clearly broken.
Documentary by Lightning Digital Entertainment (Crime and Documentary) Producer, Director, Editor, Writer "Repeat Offender" is based on author Bradley Nickell's best selling true crime book and tells the story of Daimon Monroe, mastermind of the most prolific theft ring in Las Vegas history. Over the course of 15 years, Monroe specialized in commercial burglaries, amassing millions in cash and stolen property from his criminal enterprise. Many have labeled him the poster child for a Habitual Criminal. "Repeat Offender" follows the real life investigation led by Detective Nickell, as the elite Repeat Offender Program (ROP) unit closes in on Monroe and his co-conspirators. The viewer sits in the detective's chair, listening to jail phone calls and suspect interviews, which are supported by courtroom testimony and new interviews with the people who worked on the case. All of which leads to a Murder for Hire plot where Monroe attempts to have Detective Nickell, the prosecutor, and the judge killed for revenge. Perhaps proving the line between a violent and non violent criminal is forever blurred.
