At this stage in life, most are settled into their craft and careers. Many are retiring or planning retirement...unless you’re a writer.
After a life changing 2016 and losing a friend in Hurricane Harvey, I traded the floods in the Bayou City (Houston Tx) for the rolling earthquakes and the valley wildfires of Los Angeles. I was inspired to move here to make a difference and have found the exact path and freedom to chase the dream through writing. The dream for me is to create a modern day cartoon that addresses diversity and inclusion in a different and meaningful way and from a different perspective. 5 different perspectives to be exact.
So, needless to say, I feel crazy half of the time. The other half, I am inspired by the hustle around me and the ideas pouring out of me. Everything is new and at my age, it’s a weird and uncomfortable feeling and if I am unusually spirited, I may even freak myself out at the realization of sharing my apt with a life size Duck (#DancetheDuck) and two dogs.
I appreciate the guidance and support of this group and I have already met some incredible people through the meetup with Jason.
