Laurence Corneschi is an award winning Australian actor (Lead, "Teddy" - Monash Youth Film Festival), best remembered for his numerous short films and frequent collaborations. Laurence also featured in the independent short film “Smothered” winner of a Gold Remi Award at the 45th Worldfest Houston International Film Festival.
Laurence studied a Bachelor of Arts in Performance and Multimedia at Victoria University. He continues to improve his skills by training in a variety of techniques including stunt fighting with Richard Norton, voice training with Dr Melissa Agnew and Latin Dance at Ela Rose Latin Dance Academy.
He has performed twice in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows “The Incredibly Satisfying Adventures of Milton McAffrey P.I.” and “The Upstairs Mix Up” with Driving Monks Productions. His work often combines his strong improvisational and comedic skills, most notably in the 48hr Film Project Melbourne short film “The B Word” and in the unique characters he plays in “Ciao!” a Latin Dance inspired theatre show about a young man immigrating to Australia.
With his Romanian heritage, and Romanian language fluency, Laurence is often mistaken for every other European nationality, which has helped him on his many travels throughout Europe. Laurence definitely enjoys pushing himself beyond expectations, including learning to play an accordion and harmonica for a comedic punch line, with little more than a half-forgotten bass guitar lesson to guide him. Laurence’s ideal role would be a salsa dancing soccer player, who fights off global-conquest-obsessed, highly-infectious zombies, by using his amazing karate skills. That’s a thing, right?
