About Lindsay

My name is Lindsay Thompson and I am a cinematographer in Greensboro, North Carolina.

I spent my early years performing in a handful of stage productions along with studying martial arts and stage combat. I spent nearly two decades performing as a musician at various venues throughout the country, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

I am now a working creative professional in the fields of graphic design, photography, and film/video production as well as own, and operate, the Greensboro-based production company, SparkCreate Studios.

In 2009, I began competing in the sport of canine disc with my dogs which spurred my filmmaking desires. I began production on my first feature-length dog-umentary in 2012 and released Fly High; Story of the Disc Dog in May of 2019. Fly High; Story of the Disc Dog went on to reach an international audience across 12 countries including New Zealand, Germany, Canada, the United States, and Belgium. Fly High was also selected for the Top Dog Film Festival, presented by Adventure Reels, for VOD distribution during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.

Over the last decade, I have directed short films including Real State (2016), Scoping Mechanism (2016), operated as a sound technician on the award-winning short film, There Goes Eric (2016), and assisted as Director of Photography on the 2017 film, Ann Wilson; In Focus. I released my latest short film, Artemis, in December of 2022.

Following Artemis, I acted as Director of Photography for the RPG-inspired short film, Table Chatter, and recently completed production on SparkCreate's latest sci-fi short film, Atlas Falling.

Fly High: Story of the Disc Dog (2012 - 2019)

Fly High: Story of the Disc Dog will explore the history of the rapidly growing sport of Canine Flying Disc in the canine competition world, growth that has surpassed the likes of Agility and Obedience.
