About Lindsay

My name is Lindsay Thompson, and I’m a cinematographer and visual storyteller based in Greensboro, North Carolina.

I bring a painter’s eye and a performer’s instinct to every frame — combining decades of creative work in photography, design, and filmmaking with a deep passion for emotionally grounded, visually driven storytelling.

After years on the stage and as a touring musician (including a performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame), I transitioned into visual storytelling full-time — founding SparkCreate Studios, where I direct and lens independent films, shorts, and branded content.

In 2019, I released my debut feature-length documentary Fly High: Story of the Disc Dog, which reached audiences in over a dozen countries and was selected for the Top Dog Film Festival’s international VOD showcase. Since then, I’ve shot and/or directed a range of narrative projects including Artemis (2022), Table Chatter (2023), and the upcoming sci-fi survival short Atlas Falling (2025).

I studied cinematography at the ASC Masterclass, where I learned under some of the most acclaimed directors of photography in the industry. My work is often described as intimate, atmospheric, and intentional — whether I’m shooting under golden-hour skies or crafting eerie, genre-specific lighting setups.

Let’s connect and make something meaningful. I'm always open to creative collaborations — especially those that trust the camera to carry emotion.
