Michael graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Drama. During this time he was involved with several full scale productions including playing the role of Sweeney Todd in the Original Melodrama by George Dibden Pitt.
In 2008 he accompanied the first Lincoln School of Performing Arts Company to the Edinburgh Fringe; he played the lead role in two world premieres alongside writing and directing his first play, One on One. From 2009 - 2010 he became a member of 4FRONT Performance Company whom he worked with under the Artistic Direction of Darren A. Furniss. During this time he played the lead role in the company’s first production J, D & Coke and also toured in the company’s national tour of Going Down.
In April 2010 he played Adolf Hitler in a new devised comedy as part of a double bill that included his second play Red Betrayal. In July of 2010 he was involved in the European House of Arts Festival as part of the ensemble in devised physical theatre production titled Fragments - a piece studying the effect we have on our planet.
In 2011 Michael worked with Theatre Company Citizen 598 in the Company’s TIE project We Are Science and Break the company’s first short film. In April 2011 Michael gained representation from Just Right Management under his Agent Chelle Just. Under Chelle Just’ management Michael was cast in the short film My Angel directed by Evgeny Sinelnikov.
In 2011/2012 he has been working with Hurricane Productions and ARC Theatre presenting theatre to schools. In March 2012 Michael reprised his role in J, D & Coke for a rehearsed reading followed by screen tests for the feature film adaptation. Along with Michael’s previous scripts he has wrote several shorts including Cupids Chokehold, Before the After & Diner.
Michael aims to work extensively in both Theatre and film in the coming years while also developing his writing skills, extending his repertoire and increasing his knowledge for the craft of acting.

Television (Comedy) Actor The series follows Ben (Michael James Dean) a young man looking for love on a dating website after a series of disappointing relationships. Things take an unexpected turn when help flutters into his life in the form of Cupid (Darren Ruston) who offers to help Ben find that special someone. No longer innocent and cherubic, this Cupid is sarcastic, hostile and disheartened, but he recognises something in Ben that he hesitantly welcomes and they embark on a weird and whimsical journey. Unceremoniously replaced as the harbinger of love, the mysterious Cupid is self-admittedly rusty and unpractised and Ben's initial series of dates are disastrous and hopeless. Yet these are, on hindsight, a part of the wise and wily Cupid's plans and when Ben is about to quit in comes the beautiful, warm and surprising Lucy (Lauren Wigmore). Order of the Ram
Film (Short and Horror) Producer Order of the Ram follows Mary, a young, well-spoken college girl who is well liked within the small town she resides.
