Mira Baz

Stories can be a lifeline. While sheltering with her family from the bombs of a war, Mira was nurtured by her mother’s and grandmother’s stories. Over the years she spent many a late night, flashlight pointed at a page, reading to escape, or writing stories to make sense of her world. The places she read about eventually lured her to find her own story, in America, Yemen, Thailand, and Britain. Mira has told her stories through reporting, teaching, research and writing.
