About Nick

Nick Assunto is the Script Services Coordinator at Stage 32.

He is a writer, director, and sometimes actor with over 10 years training from The Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in both New York and Los Angeles. He likes to work in the realm of "genre-comedies" and is an overall genre nerd who challenges you to quiz him.

He was previously a first and second round reader for the Austin Film Festival for three years, and a writer for the 2017 CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase. He holds a B.A. in Theater from Salve Regina University with a focus in playwriting. While there he student directed several plays, ran the improv group Seahawk Down, and started the school's Film Club. Before that he fixed printers at a law firm and worked at a fancy wine shope in his 20s in NYC.

Though writing is his passion, Nick's acting has been featured on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for his Chewbacca impression, an eHarmony commercial directed by Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst (for real, surreal experience), and is infamously known as Tony, the annoying party member from the 'Four Friends' Elder Scrolls marketing campaign.

He's currently in pre-production on a short he plans to shoot this year whenever it's safe to, and signed his first option agreement with an indie producer on a comedy feature script that will hopefully go into production.

Unique traits: Big nose, bit of a wine snob, walking IMDB
