  • The Forest for the Trees

The Forest for the Trees (2013)
Film by Tatiana Doroshenko (Documentary and History) Director, Writer, Producer This is the story the Otways Ranges Environment Network (OREN), a diverse grassroots network of people who devoted seven years of their lives to successfully end clearfell logging and woodchipping of bio-diverse native forest in the Otways Ranges. Many in OREN suffered violence, incarceration, financial loss yet won their campaign using a decentralised, regionally focused activist strategy. The film explores both the external and internal conflicts OREN faced, the highs and the lows and the unrelenting devotion of those involved, from activists living in trees to Melbourne business people. OREN still attracts attention as a case study to inspire similar campaigns around the world. Written by Tatiana Doroshenko/Simon Birrell

  • Cam Girl

    Cam Girl (2006)
Film (short) by Tatiana Doroshenko (Drama) Director, Writer, Producer Rae, a self confessed mysandrist and scopophiliac, battles the demons in her mind by making herself the centre piece of a self-devised experiment in voyeurism. Using the virtual reality of personal web-cams, and a reverse gender 'peeping tom' website, she maps the diary of her psyche and exorcises her obsession with video and mysandry, by cam- recording men from windows and stairwells in the night, to then offer up the footage to online voyeurs. One day she dares to target a middle aged man whose appearance begins to trigger visceral memories of her dark secret that compels Rae to the conclusion of her experiment; a fragile equation between confession, exposure and trust.
