About Virgil

Virgil Apostol was born in the Year of the Dragon as Virgil James Mayor Apostol. He was born in Los Angeles, raised in San Diego, and briefly went to school in the Philippines. His ancestry is of Ilokano heritage from the Northern Philippines. He is the youngest child of Vidal delos Santos Apostol who migrated to Hawai'i as a Sakada farm laborer, and Anselma Miguel Mayor, a school teacher. For over two decades, Apostol was prominently known as a healer and teacher of the indigenous art of Ablon manual medicine. His first acting role took place in 2015 while accompanying his girlfriend to a film shoot. Upon meeting Apostol, the director demanded that he write him into the script. As a performing artist and musician, being in front of the camera felt natural, thus being convinced to take up acting as a way of expressing his words, thoughts, emotions, and imagery that was always confined to paper.
