Award-winning filmmaker and US Veteran Afonso J Henrique resides in New York City and Los Angeles where he follows his true calling in life as a writer and director. He has an A.A. in Writing and Literature from the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) and is graduating with a B.A. in Screenwriting and Film Studies from Brooklyn College, Fall 2018.
Afonso is represented by Literary Manager Arus Motta of Emagine Content and is an alumnus of the Time Warner Screenwriting Fellowship with BMCC, a member of the International Screenwriters Association (ISA) and Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP). He is also a juror for the New York International Screenplay Association (NYISA) and a freelance screenwriter, instructor, and story editor.

Film by Afonso J Henrique (Crime, Drama, Thriller and Short) Writer/Director Edward Kiss is a veteran who's had it up to his eyeballs with how corrupt his city's representatives have become. So he takes it upon himself to kidnap New York City Mayor Rudy Ratliff by pretending to be an Uber the Mayor requested. As Rudy regains consciousness from being shot in the shoulder by Edward, he comes face to face with his abductor in a series of satirical and maniacal exchanges that leads to Edward dragging Rudy to a local gas station just to grab some snacks. Rudy finds some type of salvation, in Raj, the gas attendant, at least so he thinks.
