About Arun

Arun Narayanan is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. As a screenwriter, he was named one of RBC's Emerging Storytellers by the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), chosen as the winner of the CineStory TV/Digital competition's Original Comedy category, ranked Top 3 in the Showtime Networks Tony Cox Episodic Screenplay Contest at the Nantucket Film Festival, and ranked Top 10 in the Page International Screenwriting Awards, the Final Draft Big Break Contest and the Seattle International Film Festival Catalyst Screenplay Contest -- all between 2015 and 2016. His first feature-length screenplay to be produced, THE TIME CAPSULE, is currently slated for a mid-2017 release on The PixL Network, an offshoot of The Hallmark Channel.

When he is not writing, Arun works freelance as a video editor and as a Content Tagger for The Walt Disney Company. He is currently co-editing the independent feature film THE VAULT starring James Franco and Taryn Manning. He directed the short films CELLULOID DREAMS, which aired as part of the PBS Shorts Showcase program in 2013, and FALSE WITNESS, which is currently airing on ShortsHD and available on Amazon Video. And he recently produced the South Africa-set feature-length documentary TAKING STOCK, which had its festival premiere at the Encounters Documentary Film Festival in the summer of 2016.

Arun received an MFA in Film & TV Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2014.
