Happy Sunday Creative Army!
What a week here at Stage 32. We had over 25,000 people from 175 countries register for our Netflix TV Pitch Workshop on Thursday. Christopher Mack, Netflix's Director of Creative Talent Investment & Development, gave over 3 hours of information and inspiration about how to pitch to Netflix. In case you missed the live event, no worries, you can watch the full presentation on-demand here. Thank you so much to everyone who watched and shared this epic virtual event, and welcome to the thousands of new members of Stage 32! We look forward to seeing the magic you create.
Now, I've got my coffee and hand and your weekly dose of content coming in hot - grab your coffee of choice and let's dive right in.
First up, our friends from across the pond over at BAFTA recently hosted a stellar panel with the team behind Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. This interview features actors Viola Davis, Colman Domingo, Taylour Paige, and Michael Potts, as well as the director George C. Wolfe. In this video, they talk about all aspects of the making of the 1920's era film about a trailblazing blues singer in Chicago.
Next up, YouTuber turned Hollywood director Ponysmasher (aka David F. Sandberg) poses an interesting question - can you be an introverted director? David himself is a self-proclaimed introvert and he has gone on to direct major movies like Shazam!, Annabelle Creation, and Lights Out. In this video, he gives all you introverts out there some tips, tricks, and inspiration on how you can blossom in your career in entertainment, even as an introvert.
