RB's Stage 32 News, Notes, Discussions, and Other Fun Stuff (April 18th, 2014)

Posted by Richard "RB" Botto

Hey there, everyone.

First off, thanks to all who participated in the Comments section with last weekend's blog. Some really interesting points and debate.

Full week here at Stage 32. Webinars, Pitchfests, and record breaking Lounge activity. I've highlighted 60 of the most popular and interesting Lounge discussions from the last week as well as 17 planned and proposed Stage 32 Meetups. You can find the links below.

Some really cool items under Entertainment News. The Hollywood Reporter has a fun series running at the moment. They've published the letters of the late, great Elia Kazan. I've listed two here – one about James Dean and one regarding his affair with Marilyn Monroe. Also, a couple of interesting items regarding David Fincher's departure from Steve Jobs and whether the media was irresponsible in their reporting on the matter. I also have some information regarding the upcoming SAG-AFTRA contract discussions and a diversity report from the Writers Guild of America on the state of opportunities for women within the industry. All this and much, much more.

I also have 5 of the latest trailers including the first for Fincher's Gone Girl. Plus, 10 things casting directors want you to know, 5 tips for dialogue that make strong men weep, and 6 filmmaking tips from Darren Aronofsky.
