RB's Stage 32 News, Notes, Discussions, and Other Fun Stuff (July 25th, 2014)

Posted by Richard "RB" Botto

Welcome to the weekend everyone.  Hope you all had a terrific week.

In this edition of the Weekend Blog under ENTERTAINMENT NEWS, The Hollywood Reporter takes a look at what's causing the (da,da,dummmmm) Worst Summer Box Office Slump in Eight Years and, lo and behold, shitty movies are part of the equation.

I also have also have a look back at the remarkable James Garner, who passed away this week at the age of 86, a very cool article about Woody Allen and how he handles his critics courtesy of The New York Times, information regarding the NY Film Festival and the new P.T. Anderson flick, Broderick and Lane back on The Great White Way, more coverage of the Midnight Rider tragedy, more info on the new SAG-AFTRA pact, and much, much more.

Under TIPS, I'm spreading some screenwriting, editing, filmmaking, and acting knowledge.  Under VIDEOS, the trailers for the 4th Season of Homeland and the first look at Fifty Shades of Grey (pull the shades).

I also have dozens of the coolest Lounge discussions from the last week as well as all the Stage 32 Meetups happening around the globe.

And last, but certainly not least, all the recent Stage 32 Success Stories.  I have to say, this week's bunch was a joy to compile for yours truly.  So many cool tales of 32'ers from all professions and locations getting together to make some creative magic.  It was also a tremendous week for a few of our screenwriters who found success through the Stage 32 Happy Writers.  I hope you find these stories as inspiring as I.

Wishing you all a happy, loving and creative weekend!
