Welcome to the Weekend, everyone. And a very Happy 4th of July Weekend to all celebrating. Let’s get right to it, shall we?

Under ENTERTAINMENT NEWS this week, a radical cry for better movies; how blockbusters have changed the art of screenwriting (someone calling screenwriting an art is news in itself!); a few veteran actress discuss Hollywood’s “woman problem”; the Academy addresses the lack of diversity in their membership; a cool look at how a Pixar story comes to life; one man’s opinion on why we cry at the movies; the faith based film market continues to expand; the Black Swan intern ruling gets overturned; a decision on whether the producer or director is entitled to a film’s copyright; all the new movies streaming on Netflix in July; Clueless is headed to Broadway (so fetch); and much, much more.

Under VIDEOS this week, I have a 6-minute look at Goodfellas and the trailers for the latest Rocky sequel, Creed, and the new Oliver Stone film, Snowden.

If you’re looking to gain some knowledge on the subjects of film festivals, filming on a budget, creating a killer reel, becoming a more efficient editor, writing memorable characters or memorizing your lines, look know further than the TIPS section.

As per usual, there were a ton of cool things happening around the neighborhood this week. You can read all about it under STAGE 32 NEWS.

July is shaping up to be an incredible month of educational opportunities for our members. You can see what’s on tap under STAGE 32 EDUCATION.

And finally, be sure to stop by the STAGE 32 SUCCESS STORY and POPULAR AND INTERESTING LOUNGE DISCUSSION sections. In the former, you’ll find posts regarding 32’ers landing jobs and/or finding other success within the site. In the latter, you’ll find the most talked about and commented on discussions from the Lounge since the launch of Stage 32 3.0

I hope you find all the content enjoyable and educational. As always, I welcome remarks and healthy debate on any and all of the topics below in the Comments section. Let’s get the conversation rolling.

Have a terrific, creative and safe weekend!

Cheers!

RB
