Welcome to the weekend, everyone.

Finally back in the States after a remarkable 3+ weeks of business (and just a little pleasure) in France. Stage 32’s presence at the Cannes Film Festival was one to remember and our panel on social media, crowdsourcing and the state of the industry at the NEXT Pavilion was a huge smash. I’ll have more on what went down next week. In the meantime, let’s get to the action.

This week under ENTERTAINMENT NEWS, Steve Martin ponders (amongst other things) whether The Jerk would work in today’s PC climate; SAG-AFTRA reverses course on releasing data on the hiring of women and minorities (hmmm…wonder why?); Saul Goodman and David Frost discuss acting; a look at revenue, non-digital and Hollywood in 2019; the Hollywood agency wars get personal; 26 indiefilms in theaters and VOD this month you should check out; Netflix expands their original programming into animation; the Toronto Film Festival gets a little hot, bothered and schizo; legendary composer Ennio Morricone speaks out; the Tony’s heat up and much, much more.

Under VIDEOS this week, a look at what the The Shining would look like through the lens of Wes Anderson, a 26 minute dissection of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, and the trailer for the reboot of Vacation.

If you’re looking for some filmmaking, cinematography, acting, screenwriting and post-production info, TIPS is the section for you.

And, as per usual, we have all the STAGE 32 MEETUPS happening around the globe, the latest and greatest STAGE 32 SUCCESS STORIES (congratulate your fellow creative!), the coolest discussions under POPULAR AND INTERESTING LOUNGE DISCUSSIONS and, of course, all the latest happenings around the hood under STAGE 32 NEWS.

Hope you enjoy all the content! As always, I welcome remarks and healthy debate in the Comments section below.

Have an awesome and creative weekend!

Cheers!
