Welcome to the weekend, everyone.

In this edition of the Weekend Blog, under ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: The SEC finally sets the parameters for equity crowdfunding in the U.S. I have all the details. Also in that section: speaking of crowdfunding, meet the producers behind Indiegogo’s highest-funded film; the 13 breakout films from SXSW; the cameras used by the 2015 SXSW filmmakers; 46 directors talk filmmaking; why filmmakers shooting on film need to preserve their work; Ed Asner speaks out against the union’s latest minimum wage plan; a (really) comprehensive look back at Lost; how Peter Jackson’s company created a digital Paul Walker for Furious 7; Apple TV expands their offerings; HBO and Vice Media sign a content deal and why that might just be bad juju for TV news outlets; China and Hollywood are about to become global partners and much, much more.

Under VIDEOS I have one very cool and rare interview with the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock. You won’t want to miss that one. Also in that section, Whiplash, the short (it was a short before it was a feature!) and the trailer for season 3 of Orphan Black.

Under TIPS, I have a plethora of filmmaking, film festival, post-production, screenwriting (Mamet!) and acting information.

Under POPULAR AND INTERESTING LOUNGE DISCUSSIONS, you’ll find a wide variety of really cool content and information posted by our members on craft and industry. Under STAGE 32 SUCCESS stories, all the latest cool tales of triumph from within the network.

I also have all the latest and greatest STAGE 32 MEETUPS plus all the happenings and upcoming events here on the site under STAGE 32 NEWS.

As always, I welcome remarks and healthy debate regarding any and all of the content below in the Comments section.

Here’s wishing you all a fun and creative weekend!
