This past Wednesday our CEO, RB, was invited by the Stage 32 and WGA member Bill Taub to speak at the WGA panel aimed at examining the challenges and demands of creating and distributing a web series. RB was joined on the panel by speakers such as Joelle Garfinkel (creator, Cam Girls) with David Slack (EP/director, Cam Girls), Diarra Kilpatrick (American Koko; The Mysteries of Laura), and Sam Miller (L.A. Beer); Michael Ajakwe, Jr. (Founder, LAWEBFEST).
It was quite an amazing and educational experience! Topics ranged from production demands to budgeting, necessary equipment to why it's so vital to produce work with your own unique voice!
The main takeaway was the importance placed upon producing video product as a tool to have something to show beyond sharing something to read!
Afterwards, RB was interviewed by Steve Trautmann from 3rd & Fairfax the WGAW podcast. Keep on the lookout because we will be releasing the podcast and video from this event as soon as it is made available to us to post right here on the Stage 32 blog!
Many thanks to Stage 32 member Bill Taub for making this happen!
