Our Stage 32 television writers asked, and we answered.
The Stage 32 Happy Writers is thrilled to bring you our Stage 32 Happy Writers 1st Annual TV Writing Contest. We want it all! Serialized, sitcoms, procedurals, miniseries, one-hours, you name it! We are looking for 30 and 60 minute original and 30 and 60 minute existing show teleplays. We've had many television writers find great success with us and now we're casting the net a bit wider to find more talented writers for our Stage 32 Happy Writers executives. Last year's television category winner of our overall contest, Michael Madden, was signed to Benderspink and ICM and is now a staff writer on ABC's Black Box.
We have put together an impressive array of judges that include: Daniel Vang (Manager, Benderspink, We’re the Millers), Jeff Portnoy (Head of Story Department, Resolution), Kenchy Ragsdale (VP of Development at Latin World Entertainment, Sofia Vergara’s company), Jessica Lubben (Creative Executive, Scott Free Productions, The Good Wife), Roberto Alcantara (VP, Marblemedia), Amanda Bowman (Manager, Alloy Entertainment, The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl), and Matt Horowitz, Echo Lake Entertainment (Nebraska, Romeo & Juliet).
Our grand prize winner will be flown to Los Angeles, CA to have meetings with 4 television industry executives: Mitch Solomon from Magnet Management, Kendrick Tan from Madhouse Entertainment, Justin Littman from Gotham Group and Malcolm Gray from Sketch Films. Our 4 category winners will have a Skype meeting with the executive of their choice. Overall 9 writers will receive prize packages that includes contact with industry insiders. No other contest offers this kind of access to a greater number of writers! This is truly where preparation meets opportunity!
