There is a moment every writer waits for. Not the moment a script is finished, and not the moment it places in a contest. The moment someone with real industry power reads your work, believes in your voice, and says, "I want to represent you."

That moment is what this event is built for.

I am thrilled to announce the return of the Stage 32 Representation Pitchfest, running Saturday, July 25th through Wednesday, July 29th. We are bringing you managers, agents, and literary representatives from across the industry, professionals who are actively building their rosters and looking for the next writer they want to champion.

Why Representation Changes Everything

A great script opens a door. A great representative opens the building.

Your manager or agent is the person who gets your work in front of the buyers you cannot reach on your own. They are the ones who package your project with talent and financing, who put you up for open writing assignments, who fight for you in rooms you are not standing in, yet. They know which executive is looking for exactly what you have written, and they know when to send it. That is access, strategy, and advocacy, and it is the difference between a script sitting in a drawer and a script sitting on a desk.

Here is the challenge every writer knows too well: most of these representatives do not accept unsolicited material. There is no submission portal. There is no cold email that works. The traditional path to their attention runs through referrals and relationships that many writers, especially those outside of Los Angeles, simply do not have.

That is precisely why we built this event.

This Lineup Signs Stage 32 Writers

I want to be very direct with you about something, because it is the reason I am so excited about this particular lineup.

The representatives coming to this Pitchfest do not just listen politely to Stage 32 writers. They sign them.

Chris Coggins of Heroes and Villains Entertainment recently signed a Stage 32 writer. Spencer Robinson of Art/Work Entertainment has signed multiple screenwriters he met through Stage 32, including Shannon K. Valenzuela, whose project he is now packaging with talent and financing, and he is currently taking projects from Steven Maidment and Dion Smith out for packaging as well. Stephan Dubreuil signed Stage 32 writer Mark Furley after they met during a consultation. Eileen Cope has signed shopping agreements with five writers she connected with here. Jon Hersh has worked with dozens of Stage 32 writers and signed Aaron Benjamin to his roster directly from a pitch session.

That is not a promise of what could happen. That is a record of what has already happened for our Stage 32 Community.

Who You Will Be Pitching

Across these three days, you will have access to representatives whose clients have worked on ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, THE WITCHER, THE BEAR, THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, REACHER, VACATION FRIENDS, DEAD BOY DETECTIVES, and many more. You will be pitching to top industry executives who have placed writers with Netflix, HBO, MAX, Amazon, Disney+, Hulu, FX, Showtime, CBS, NBC, and beyond.

She currently works as a manager at Heroes and Villains Entertainment, representing writers and directors. Previously, Coggins worked at Luc Besson's EuropaCorp, procuring projects including the untitled Jennifer Aniston superhero project, Fae, and the English-language remake of the Japanese blockbuster Shield of Straw. Prior to that, she served as Head of Development at Rock Paper Scissors Entertainment, where she built a production slate, produced the PSA Take Yourself on a Date, and oversaw development on the company's new media projects for The Oscars, HBO, and Amazon.

Spencer has signed screenwriters he's met through Stage 32 including Shannon K. Valenzuela and he is now packaging her project with talent and financing. Writer George Perez, who wrote a script with Spencer during a Stage 32 lab he taught was chosen for the Sundance episodic lab with that script!

Each session gives you the chance to pitch your project directly, receive live feedback from the representative on the other side of the table, and ask the questions you have been carrying around for years. You will learn what is working in your pitch and what is not, straight from someone whose job is to sell material exactly like yours. And if your work resonates, you have a direct line to a conversation about representation.

This is a focused, high-caliber opportunity to put your career in front of the people who can move it forward.

Why Now

Representatives build their rosters carefully and deliberately. They sign the writers whose voices they believe in and whose careers they want to invest years in building. When a manager is actively looking, that window is open. When their roster fills, it closes.

Every representative on this list is at the table because they are looking right now.

You have done the hard part already. You wrote the script. You did the rewrites. You prepared your pitch. You built the voice that only you have. All that is left is to let the right person hear about it.
