I’ve always had a passion for film making and movies since I was a kid. It has always been just that, a passion. In high school I attended film classes. After high school I realized succeeding in the film industry can be very difficult. So I attended flight school. Became a flight instructor and eventually an airline pilot, where I am currently a captain with the airlines. The airline job brought me to the Hampton Roads area in 2008, where I currently reside with my wife and son.
I have been, mostly as a hobby, on and off again playing around with cameras and continuing to learn the craft of filmmaking, mostly by watching videos and reading books. A little while ago I decided to take it a little more seriously and purchased some better equipment and started what is today, FregitFilms. I had been writing scripts in the mean time for short films, possibly a feature. Then last year, I came across a contest that was online, "The Four Points Film Project". Open to 200 teams from all around the world, from professional to novice film makers alike.
“The Four Points Film Project” is a contest that as a team you have 77 hours to write, shot and edit a short film between 4-7 minutes long containing certain criteria. This would be my first time directing a short film, and our film "Bennie" would be selected into the top 25. "Bennie" then went on to win the Audience Choice award and was screened at Filmapalooza 2016 in Atlanta.
I am looking forward to meeting fellow filmmakers and collaborating on future projects.
