Candice Delevante is a Brooklyn-based screenwriter and documentary filmmaker. Having experienced and witnessed hate crimes as a youth and institutionalized racism as an adult, one day she finally decided to document one of her experiences. She started as a scrappy archival producer, meshing re-enactments together with news footage, montages and voiceovers to create her first short documentary titled "Go Quietly" in 2016, while an attorney anonymously offered a “playbook” for use in the film. The playbook was an unpublished document used by one of the big banks to support the argument that we live in a two-tiered system of justice.
Her next two documentaries titled “The Robo Con’ and “Nkosi Eclipsed” featured strong, indomitable characters who inspire by rising up to speak courageously about systems of oppression. Her documentaries and screenplays have been showcased at festivals in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Europe and Australia.
Candice is a member of NY Women in Film & Television and SAG-AFTRA.
